On Sunday, the Atlanta Braves<\/a> are finishing their three-game series with the Arizona Diamondbacks<\/a> at Truist Park.<\/p>\n

They lost each of the first two games, so they are looking to avoid a sweep.<\/p>\n

UPDATE: The Braves won 5-3.<\/p>\n

During Sunday\u2019s game, ESPN\u2019s Jeff Passan reported the news that the Braves are releasing Carlos Santana<\/a> from their organization.<\/p>\n

Passan wrote:<\/a> \u201cVeteran first baseman Carlos Santana will be granted his release from Triple-A Gwinnett today and will be a free agent, sources tell ESPN. He\u2019s still looking to play and hopes to latch on with a team after hitting .292\/.385\/.382 with a pair of home runs in 104 plate appearances.\u201d<\/p>\n

Santana did not appear in a game for the Braves at the MLB<\/a> level.<\/p>\n

He had appeared in eight games for the Diamondbacks earlier this season.<\/p>\n

Santana has spent 17 seasons in the MLB with the Cleveland Guardians<\/a>, Kansas City Royals<\/a>, Philadelphia Phillies<\/a>, Minnesota Twins<\/a>, Pittsburgh Pirates<\/a>, Seattle Mariners<\/a>, Milwaukee Brewers<\/a>, Chicago Cubs<\/a> (and Diamondbacks).<\/p>\n

The 2019 MLB All-Star is batting .240 with 1,882 hits, 335 home runs, 1,136 RBIs, 1,108 runs and 65 stolen bases in 2,212 career games.<\/p>\n

It will be interesting to see if another team picks him up before the end of the 2026 season.<\/p>\n
