{"id":859047,"date":"2026-08-18T00:50:16","date_gmt":"2026-08-18T00:50:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/859047\/"},"modified":"2026-08-18T00:50:16","modified_gmt":"2026-08-18T00:50:16","slug":"supercars-anton-de-pasquale-in-gm-academy-led-by-nascar-former-driver-josh-wise","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/859047\/","title":{"rendered":"Supercars: Anton De Pasquale in GM academy led by NASCAR former driver Josh Wise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">CHEVROLET\u2019S top driver in Supercars has lapped up an opportunity Stateside with General Motors.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.v8sleuth.com.au\/stats-driver-1264-Anton-De Pasquale\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Anton De Pasquale<\/a> will head into this weekend\u2019s Ipswich Super440 off the back of partaking in a GM academy in North Carolina.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program was conducted by Wise Optimization \u2013 led by former NASCAR driver Josh Wise \u2013 and analysed De Pasquale\u2019s performance, fitness and more.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De Pasquale also toured the GM Charlotte Tech Center and various NASCAR team workshops.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/superstore.v8sleuth.com.au\/products\/1-43-scale-2022-bathurst-1000-gen-3-launch-livery-chevrolet-camaro-model?utm_source=website&amp;utm_medium=referral&amp;utm_campaign=buy-button&amp;utm_content=buy-button\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/ACD43C22A_1.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt has been a really cool trip\u2026 we\u2019ve worked through fitness training, simulator sessions and several different driving exercises, all focused on helping me become a better driver and learning how they approach driver development over here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cThe GM Technical Center is an amazing facility. The scale of the facility and the technology available to support GM\u2019s racing programs is insane, and it was great to meet some of the people working behind the scenes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m incredibly grateful to everyone at GM and Chevrolet Racing for making the trip possible and giving me this opportunity.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s been a really valuable experience, and I\u2019ve learned plenty that I can take back to Australia.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/c9e2c3f7-518a-4ab3-8a90-960d7e6ed690-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-262405\"  \/>Anton De Pasquale with Shane van Gisbergen. Pic: Supplied<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cRichmond (Raceway for the NASCAR Cup Series) was a cool way to finish the trip. I caught up with Shane (van Gisbergen) before the race and then watched it unfold in the Trackhouse team pit box.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt has been a busy couple of weeks, but I\u2019m looking forward to getting home and heading straight to Ipswich. We\u2019ve had a strong run of results recently, so hopefully we can carry that momentum into the weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">De Pasquale is responsible for both of GM\u2019s Supercars race wins in 2026, and holds sixth in the overall points.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"CHEVROLET\u2019S top driver in Supercars has lapped up an opportunity Stateside with General Motors.
