At this point, ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky<\/a> is just as well known for his peculiar habits<\/a>, particularly his food preferences<\/a>, and life-hack hot takes<\/a> as he is for his football takes.<\/p>\n

All the way back in May 2022, Orlovsky exposed that he will only tolerate birthday cake if it\u2019s \u201cice cream cake because normal cake is gross<\/a>,\u201d much to the disgust of his\u00a0NFL Live\u00a0cohorts.<\/p>\n

Then, in April 2023, Orlovsky appeared on The Dan Le Batard Show<\/a> and flaunted his love for plain chicken. \u201cFor me, I\u2019m just like, yo, just give me chicken, and I\u2019m fine,\u201d he said. \u201cI routinely just eat plain, grilled chicken. Not seasoned. Just give me a piece of chicken, grill it, cook it, and I\u2019ll just cube that up and eat it.\u201d<\/p>\n

This all came back around on Monday\u2019s\u00a0NFL Live episode, as host Laura Rutledge<\/a> presented Orlovsky with bland chicken breasts with a birthday candle stuck in the middle. Orlovsky turns 43 on Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t understand the gripe with grilled chicken,\u201d Orlovsky said. \u201cI\u2019m actually gonna eat it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rutledge asked him to make a wish, predicting he would \u201cwish for every quarterback to be under center at all times.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orlovsky confirmed that he wished for \u201cmore under center, more play action, more using of the tight ends.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orlovsky blew out the candle before taking a bite with no condiments or sauces, much less icing, in sight.\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s cold. It\u2019s good!\u201d he said while eating. \u201cThat\u2019s actually pretty good. I don\u2019t understand why people hate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mina Kimes alternated between laughing and staring in silence from her remote box. \u201cHappy birthday, buddy,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Orlovsky may welcome playful backlash to his chicken birthday cake after enduring the past week of ruthless criticism for loving Pat McAfee\u2019s new album<\/a> and publishing his controversial quarterback rankings<\/a>.<\/p>\n
