He is expected in camp on Monday night and will begin the ramp-up process on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>B.T. Jordan, a pass rush consultant for the Cowboys, is the personal pass rush coach for Miller. Jordan vouched for the 37-year-old Miller, who had nine sacks last season while playing 37 percent of the snaps in 17 games.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou get someone that\u2019s <a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.dallascowboys.com\/news\/jerry-jones-on-von-miller-open-to-making-substantive-move-preseason-and-more\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">been there and done that<\/a>,\u201d Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said of Miller, via Tommy Yarrish of the team website. \u201cHe trains with our consulting trainer, and boy, [Jordan] had been telling us for all this past year, \u2018Boy if we could get [Miller].\u2019 He knew first-hand because he works with him all the time and knew that he could help us. And of course, that trainer is working with all of our guys. We feel real good.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve really been communicating with him for a lot of weeks here. [Jordan] couldn\u2019t say enough good things about what kind of shape he\u2019s in, how much quickness he has, how he thought he could really help us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Cowboys have hinted at a \u201c<a class=\"Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/jerry-jones-is-willing-to-give-up-a-top-pick-for-a-defensive-playmaker\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">substantive<\/a>\u201d trade for a defensive player since training camp opened, and Jones said Miller\u2019s signing doesn\u2019t change that.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYes, if we had an opportunity, I would be [open to a trade],\u201d Jones said. \u201cIt\u2019s as much about what I think of where we are, which I\u2019m more positive than when we started camp, seriously, about what our chances are. And so I think if we saw an opportunity to take a little of the future and put it on this team, I\u2019d do it if it would help us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones seems to feel the Cowboys are one defensive player away from winning another Super Bowl. They traded for Charles Haley before the 1992 season and won back-to-back Super Bowl titles. They signed free agent Deion Sanders before the 1995 season and won a third Super Bowl in four years.<\/p>\n<p>They haven\u2019t been back since.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m even more excited today than I was when we started camp that our team is going to be one that if we can have some things go right for us, avoid some injury, we could really be something that we all want to be, and that\u2019s a team that\u2019s competing for the big game,\u201d Jones said. \u201cBottom line is, the answer is yes.
