The 26-year-old, 2.07-meter forward\/center had already been on Barcelona’s radar last season, but the Spanish powerhouse was unable to bring him in at the time.<\/p>\n

This time, Makoundou is set to join Barcelona, BasketNews sources confirm.<\/p>\n

Gabriel Pantel-Jouve of BeBasket<\/a> was the first to report on the negotiations.<\/p>\n

Makoundou is coming off a season split between China and AS Monaco.<\/p>\n

During his stint in China, he averaged 15.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.5 blocks, and 0.6 steals per game, shooting 57% from two-point range.<\/p>\n

He later returned to Monaco and produced 10.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 1.1 blocks, and 0.7 steals in 20 minutes per game in the French league. Makoundou was particularly efficient, shooting 65% from two and 44% from three.<\/p>\n

The versatile big man also made five EuroLeague appearances for Monaco, averaging 6.2 points and 1.8 rebounds in just eight minutes per game.<\/p>\n
