Hayden Panettiere\u2019s<\/a> ex has broken his silence in the wake of the beloved actress\u2019 death, sharing his \u201cprofound shock and grief\u201d.<\/p>\n

Former heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko and Panettiere were together for nine years and share a daughter, Kaya, who is now 11. <\/p>\n

\u201cThe announcement of Hayden\u2019s tragic death saddens me deeply. She left this world far too soon. Hayden was, although no longer my partner, an important part of my life and the mother of our daughter, Kaya. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe built an incredible career through immense talent, while also facing the darker sides of a very demanding industry. Nothing will erase the times we shared or the place she had in our lives. <\/p>\n

\u201cTo our daughter Kaya, I will always speak of her mother with respect and make sure she remembers the person she was. <\/p>\n

\u201cI extend my deepest condolences to Hayden\u2019s parents, her friends, and her fans, who are also grieving today. <\/p>\n

\u201cYoung and talented people like Hayden should not leave this world so soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Klitschko finished the statement by saying he hoped Panettiere finds \u201ceternal peace\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you to everyone who is supporting my family and expressing their sincere condolences,\u201d he wrote.<\/p>\n

Cryptic post before actress\u2019 death confirmed<\/p>\n

It comes after the former boxing champion shared a cryptic post just hours before the beloved actress\u2019 death was confirmed. <\/p>\n

\u201cResilience is not about surviving the hit. It\u2019s about getting up and refusing to quit,\u201d Klitschko posted on X.<\/p>\n

His message of survival and resilience was shared on Sunday evening just hours before Panettiere\u2019s representative confirmed the Heroes and Nashville actress had died. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,\u201d the statement said. <\/p>\n

\u201cShe was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her \u2014 and to the millions who watched her onscreen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Their high-profile, on-and-off relationship was frequently in the press, with rumours of break-ups following the couple until they finally split for good in 2018.<\/p>\n

When the pair separated, Klitschko and their daughter moved to his home country, Ukraine<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In 2018, Klitschko received full custody of Kaya amid Panettiere\u2019s battle with addiction to alcohol and pills.<\/p>\n

In a July interview with parenting magazine Mom\u00e9<\/a>, Panettiere opened up about the near-death birth, postpartum depression and the painful decision to give her ex-fianc\u00e9 custody of their daughter.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love my daughter, and I\u2019m so proud of the young woman she is becoming,\u201d Panettiere said. <\/p>\n

\u201cI talk to her all the time, and I feel so connected to her. <\/p>\n

\u201cOne day she\u2019ll understand my story, and why I wasn\u2019t able to be with her all the time.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

She previously described her ex-fianc\u00e9 as a deeply respected, protective presence who offered her safety during her early Hollywood years. <\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re very close, and have had a deep friendship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following Panettiere\u2019s death, fans and followers sent messages of support to the former sportsman, wishing him \u201cstrength and resilience\u201d during this incredibly difficult time.<\/p>\n

Cause of death remains under investigation<\/p>\n

The Greenville County Coroner\u2019s Office, in South Carolina, said Panettiere\u2019s cause of death remains under investigation.<\/p>\n

An autopsy was completed Monday, the statement added, and \u201cno signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death\u201d. <\/p>\n

The coroner\u2019s office said emergency services had been called to an apartment complex regarding a \u201creported cardiac arrest\u201d. Police said the call came from an acquaintance of the actor.<\/p>\n

\u201cPanettiere was found unresponsive inside the residence, where she had been temporarily staying,\u201d the coroner\u2019s office said.<\/p>\n

Advanced cardiac life support measures were initiated, but resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful and Panettiere was pronounced deceased at 2.32pm local time.<\/p>\n

Officials were heard on dispatch audio discussing an \u201coverdose\u201d, according to\u00a0People magazine. <\/p>\n
