Essendon\u2019s former Pick 5 Elijah Tsatas is reportedly preparing to be delisted as one of a dozen Bombers in contract limbo.<\/p>\n
The Herald Sun\u2019s Jon Ralph reports Tsatas\u2019 \u201cexpectation is he will be delisted\u201d after just six games this year and none since Round 14. <\/p>\n
Tsstas is among 12 Bombers out of contract, including fellow former first-round picks Archie Perkins and Nik Cox, as well as Jade Gresham, Liam McMahon Matt Guelfi and Will Setterfield as the club prepares to make key list calls at exit interviews without a senior coach. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve turned over 39 players in four years and there\u2019s more to come,\u201d Ralph continued on Fox Footy\u2019s Midweek Tackle.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think Gresham, Guelfi and McMahon are all in trouble. <\/p>\n
\u201cArchie Perkins, the feeling is he\u2019s more likely to get a one-year deal. <\/p>\n
\u201cWill Setterfield was excellent against Sydney with eight clearances and 33 possessions \u2014 he just keeps on keeping on.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd Nik Cox has played eight games – two since Round 14 – we love the story of coming back from concussion. <\/p>\n
\u201cThey can\u2019t get rid of all of them.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Ralph also reported the Crows had offered Izak Rankine a five-year extension beyond 2027, when his current deal expires.<\/p>\n
Though finding the right price point has proven problematic in the early part of negotiations, given Rankine\u2019s lack of accolades to this stage of the talented star\u2019s career.<\/p>\n
\u201cDo you pay your stars on output or potential?,\u201d Ralph posed later on the program. \u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt seems these days it\u2019s almost on potential. We saw 10 or 12 really good weeks from Nas Wanganeen-Milera and \u2018here\u2019s your $2 million\u2019.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve put five years to (Rankine), but it\u2019s the start of negotiations, they will take a while.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe think he can be a superstar of the game and we\u2019ve seen the best of him. But he also has never finished top three in the Adelaide best and fairest and he\u2019s never been an All-Australian. <\/p>\n
\u201c(Rankine\u2019s) manager is probably saying (he\u2019s worth) $2 million a year, they\u2019re probably saying: \u2018We can\u2019t pay him more than Jordan Dawson\u2019.\u201d<\/p>\n
