Ireland is strongly represented, with Joseph O\u2019Brien responsible for 15 nominations, including last year\u2019s Melbourne Cup runner-up Goodie Two Shoes.<\/p>\n
Aidan O\u2019Brien has just one nomination, G2 winner Causeway.<\/p>\n
The Melbourne Racing Club announced in June that prize money for the 150th running of the Caulfield Cup would rise from $5 million to $6 million.<\/p>\n
The winner will receive $3.3 million, while connections of all 18 starters will earn prizemoney, with horses finishing outside the top 10 collecting $60,000.<\/p>\n
Australian Derby winner Green Spaces, trained by Bjorn Baker, is the current $9 pre-post favourite.<\/p>\n
Aeliana is next at $11, with Half Yours and Sir Delius on the following line at $15.<\/p>\n
Late nominations will be accepted until midday on Tuesday, September 8, before weights are released on Thursday, September 17.<\/p>\n
First declarations will be taken on Tuesday, September 22, second declarations on Tuesday, October 6 and the final field will be announced on Tuesday, October 13.<\/p>\n
