Both teams are challenging the decision to overturn the two pit lane speeding penalties Gasly received during the race, which ultimately restored the Frenchman to third<\/a> following Alpine\u2019s successful right of review.<\/p>\n

Gasly had originally been handed separate five-second sanctions<\/a> after being recorded at 60.1km\/h and 60.4km\/h against the 60km\/h limit during the June 7 race.<\/p>\n

The penalties dropped the Alpine driver from third to seventh in the provisional classification before the team challenged the measurements behind the infringements.<\/p>\n

Alpine lodged two petitions for a right of review following the race, with stewards subsequently determining there was new evidence that had not been available when the original penalties were issued.<\/p>\n

The case centred on the distance used by Formula One Management to calculate Gasly\u2019s speed through the pit lane, which was later found to have been measured incorrectly.<\/p>\n

FOM acknowledged during the review process that the figure had resulted in Gasly\u2019s speed being overstated.<\/p>\n

Both five-second penalties were subsequently rescinded on June 12, forcing the race classification and championship points to be amended.<\/p>\n

Gasly was reinstated to third, while Red Bull\u2019s Isack Hadjar dropped to fourth and McLaren\u2019s Oscar Piastri dropped back to fifth.<\/p>\n

Liam Lawson was also shuffled down to sixth and Arvid Lindblad to seventh as a consequence of Gasly\u2019s return to the podium.<\/p>\n

The outcome prompted McLaren and Red Bull to take the matter further, with both teams lodging appeals with the FIA on June 16<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The governing body has now confirmed the appeals will be heard in Paris on Tuesday, August 25, two days after the Dutch Grand Prix.<\/p>\n

Their appeals are specifically against Decisions No. 1 and No. 2 contained in Document 99, which removed the two penalties originally imposed on Gasly.<\/p>\n

A successful appeal could therefore change the Monaco result for a second time and alter the points awarded to both teams and their drivers.<\/p>\n

Several competitors were penalised for pit lane speeding during the Monaco race, including Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Franco Colapinto and Piastri.<\/p>\n

Mercedes also considered its options after Russell was caught up in the pit lane speeding controversy but ultimately elected not to pursue further action.<\/p>\n

The International Court of Appeal hearing will be closed to the public and media for confidentiality reasons, with attendance restricted to authorised parties.<\/p>\n
