Sabalenka\u2019s win was her 45th career trip to a WTA 1000 last-16, surpassing Karolina Pliskova\u2019s 44 for the most of any active player. It is also her fifth WTA 1000 last-16 of the season, her 40th win of the year, and her seventh appearance at this stage in Cincinnati in the last eight years.<\/p>\n
Sabalenka was imperious throughout, losing just a single point on her second serve across the entire match (on 15 points).<\/p>\n
She had reached this round by beating Australian Talia Gibson 6-2, 7-6 (2) in the previous round, while Wang, ranked No 36, had beaten Croatian Donna Vekic, the No 31 seed, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, and Belgian qualifier Hanne Vandewinkel, 6-4, 6-3, earlier in the tournament.<\/p>\n
Sabalenka and Bejlek will meet for a place in the quarterfinals.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
