{"id":861936,"date":"2026-08-20T11:16:08","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T11:16:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/861936\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T11:16:08","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T11:16:08","slug":"francesca-hennessy-in-talks-to-fight-undisputed-bantamweight-champion-dina-thorslund","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/861936\/","title":{"rendered":"Francesca Hennessy in talks to fight undisputed bantamweight champion Dina Thorslund"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Francesca Hennessy is in talks to fight undisputed bantamweight world champion Dina Thorslund in the United Kingdom later this year, BBC Sport understands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Promotional outfit Boxxer has offered Danish fighter Thorslund close to $250,000 (\u00a3183,000) to face 21-year-old Hennessy in the UK in November or December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Hennessy, the number one ranked challenger with the WBC, would become the youngest undisputed world champion in four-belt history if she defeats Thorslund.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I can confirm we have made Dina Thorslund an offer that we believe represents the highest payday of her career to come to the UK and face Francesca Hennessy,&#8221; her promoter Ben Shalom told BBC Sport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Fran is one of the most exciting young fighters in the sport and has the opportunity to make history by becoming the youngest-ever undisputed world champion. This would be a huge fight, and we&#8217;re very keen to make it happen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Thorslund&#8217;s manager, Lee Eaton, confirmed to BBC Sport they are in talks with Hennessy&#8217;s representatives.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;Boxxer knows what gets the fight made.
