Former US ambassador to the United Kingdom Robert Wood Johnson has acquired a minority stake in the Aston Martin Formula 1 Team.<\/p>\n
Johnson is owner and chairman of the NFL\u2019s New York Jets and was the US ambassador to the UK from 2017 to 2021, during Donald Trump\u2019s first Presidential term.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The businessman is an heir to the Johnson & Johnson pharmaceutical empire.\u00a0He also owns a 43% stake in Crystal Palace football club.<\/p>\n
Johnson\u2019s purchase of the Aston Martin stake is purely commercial, with Aston Martin having stated that he will \u201cnot undertake any day-to-day management duties\u201d as Lawrence Stroll still manages and controls Aston Martin.<\/p>\n
The NFL owner\u2019s stake has not been disclosed.<\/p>\n
