{"id":862200,"date":"2026-08-20T16:34:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:34:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/862200\/"},"modified":"2026-08-20T16:34:10","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T16:34:10","slug":"francesca-hennessy-most-valuable-promotions-dismisses-not-real-offer-for-dina-thorslund-to-fight-briton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/862200\/","title":{"rendered":"Francesca Hennessy: Most Valuable Promotions dismisses &#8216;not real offer&#8217; for Dina Thorslund to fight Briton"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Dina Thorslund&#8217;s promoter has dismissed an approach for Briton Francesca Hennessy to fight the undisputed bantamweight world champion as &#8220;not a real offer&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Boxxer, who promotes Hennessy, said it had offered the Danish fighter close to $250,000 (\u00a3183,000) to face the 21-year-old in the UK in November or December.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Hennessy is the WBC&#8217;s number one challenger, but Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) and Thorslund&#8217;s management said the offer lacked key details, while they also disputed the reported fee. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We never go to the media to discuss financial offers among fighters and promoters, but there was very little detail in their &#8216;offer&#8217; and, most importantly, no broadcaster, date or venue attached,&#8221; MVP head of matchmaking Mike Leanardi told BBC Sport.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;We would never agree to a fight involving an A-side undisputed champion on what is effectively a shopping agreement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;It&#8217;s not a real offer.
