It is currently estimated to be worth about $1 trillion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Australia has been a global leader in space <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themandarin.com.au\/316162-australian-space-agency-stands-up-indian-mission-terminal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">telemetry<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.themandarin.com.au\/198484-csiro-remains-ready-to-support-artemis-i-launch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">communications<\/a> for decades. Now, the government is backing companies setting up spaceports and the necessary training and supply facilities.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The National Reconstruction Fund has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nrf.gov.au\/our-investments\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">doled out<\/a> $200 million to these companies over the past 18 months, including to Southern Launch, Liquid Instruments, Advanced Navigation, and Gilmour Space Technologies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The government is looking to literally skyrocket industry policy by redoubling focus on space industries.
