Jason Ryles has blasted the Bunker after a controversial call in Parramatta\u2019s 34-16 loss to the Dolphins<\/a> on Friday night that he believes could \u201cdecide a grand final\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Eels blew an early 10-0 lead to be run down by a fast-finishing Dolphins side who are in a strong position to finish inside the top four.<\/p>\n

The Dolphins went ahead late in the first half through a Jamayne Isaako try, although the winger was initially ruled to have lost the ball in the tackle from Sean Russell before that was overruled by the Bunker.<\/p>\n

While Ryles stressed that the decision did not impact the final result, he was less than impressed with the call.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t go anywhere near that. I don\u2019t go any near the refs or anything like that because I know they\u2019ve got a tough job,\u201d Ryles said.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut one thing I will say is that Bunker\u2019s got more technology than they had getting to the moon and they still stuff it up. <\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s what I don\u2019t understand. That\u2019s just all I\u2019ve got to say about the Bunker. I don\u2019t have anything good to say about it, so I\u2019m just going to leave it at that.\u201d<\/p>\n

Except Ryles didn\u2019t leave it at that as journalists continued to press him on the Bunker.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not saying any more about the Bunker. But just get it right,\u201d Ryles said, prompting a reporter to instead ask him on the decision itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought he did,\u201d Ryles said when asked if Isaako lost the ball.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thought it went up no try, and then how they turned it over… I don\u2019t know, you\u2019re watching it, you\u2019re thinking the same thing. Did it have an influence on the game? <\/p>\n

\u201cNo, it didn\u2019t, but that\u2019s going to decide a grand final, let\u2019s be honest.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ryles later confirmed he could hear the Bunker\u2019s communication in the coach\u2019s box, describing it as \u201cvery confusing\u201d and said he would not be contacting the NRL during the week for an explanation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not worth it,\u201d he said. \u201cWaste of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

One journalist then tried to suggest to Ryles that the Eels may regularly be on the wrong end of 50-50 calls because of their lowly ladder position. But the Parramatta coach quickly shot down that claim.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re trying to bait me. It\u2019s got nothing to do with that,\u201d he laughed.<\/p>\n

While Ryles was adamant Isaako\u2019s try should not have been awarded, the vast majority of the Fox League panel agreed with the Bunker\u2019s decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I first saw it live I thought he had lost the ball and I can see Jason\u2019s frustration in the sense that they went up no try but I thought from where we were sitting and completely unattached to both sides, there was an angle that showed his hand never came away from the ball and he got the ball down, so I was okay with the decision,\u201d Michael Ennis said on Fox League\u2019s Friday Night Footy. <\/p>\n

When a journalist first brought up the decision to Ryles they did so by comparing it to Harry Grant\u2019s no-try in the loss to Penrith, which drew the ire of the Storm skipper<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Braith Anasta, however, said the Isaako incident was \u201cdifferent\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ball came away when Harry tried to get the ball down and touched the opposition player. I don\u2019t think you can compare the two,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Newly unveiled St Helens coach Kevin Walters<\/a> was the only member of the panel to side with Ryles, with Panthers fullback Dylan Edwards also agreeing with Ennis and Anasta.<\/p>\n

\u201cI initially thought it was no try but then that replay that showed I didn\u2019t think the hand came away from the ball as it touched the ground,\u201d Edwards said.<\/p>\n
