Image: InSyde Media<\/p>\n<p>Mostert failed to finish Sunday\u2019s race when his Supra was struck with a yet-to-be-identified engine problem.<\/p>\n<p>What makes the failure particularly troubling is that Mostert was running the new B-spec engine, which Walkinshaw had hoped would solve reliability issues seen across the Toyota fleet so far this season.<\/p>\n<p>The Walkinshaw crew will pull the engine out of the car tonight (Sunday) before sending it to the Supercars engine shop in Brisbane tomorrow, where a full investigation will take place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will do a complete forensic strip down of the engine tomorrow alongside Supercars,\u201d Walkinshaw CEO Bruce Stewart told Speedcafe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe won\u2019t speculate on what it may be until that\u2019s complete.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe message from us doesn\u2019t change. We will continue to throw every resource possible at this to continue to improve the package.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are a people driven team, it hurts everyone, but no one is giving up, we\u2019re determined to solve it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The engine will need to be back in Mostert\u2019s car for Tuesday\u2019s pre-enduro test, which will provide another important bank of miles for the new-spec Toyota V8s.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Chaz Mostert suffered an engine issue in Ipswich.
