The following story involves a grieving woman who lost her husband<\/a> and was now moving states with her children.<\/p>\n After spending hours unloading and unpacking, she asked her mother for help to pick up her nephew and drive him back to their house.<\/p>\n Her mother refused because of her anxiety, leaving the exhausted woman feeling hurt and unsupported.<\/p>\n Read the full story below for all the details.<\/p>\n My (35F) husband (35M) passed away a month and a half ago.<\/p>\n I had to pack up all of my belongings, all my children\u2019s belongings, and move states in order to be closer to family.<\/p>\n I had zero support system where I was.<\/p>\n When I got where I am, a few family members came and helped me unload my boxes and furniture.<\/p>\n Then, they headed back to their jobs and lives.<\/p>\n It was so unbelievably helpful, as packing the truck all by myself was such a miserable experience.<\/p>\n This woman promised her sister she would drive back her son after all the unpacking.<\/p>\n My mother was not one of the people that helped me. No real reason, just didn\u2019t come help.<\/p>\n It\u2019s fine. She is 60 and couldn\u2019t really unload boxes and furniture, so I wrote that off.<\/p>\n My older sister came and brought both of her sons to help.<\/p>\n I explained that I needed the oldest to stay and help me put up some shelves, and that I would drive him home after.<\/p>\n She agreed and took her middle son home.<\/p>\n However, she realized she couldn\u2019t because she was so exhausted.<\/p>\n Cut to 5 hours later at 8:30 pm, it has been 13 hours of unloading furniture and boxes and unpacking.<\/p>\n My body hurts, I\u2019m exhausted physically, emotionally, mentally. I\u2019m just wiped.<\/p>\n So, I call my sister and ask her if she would come grab her son.<\/p>\n She apologizes profusely, but explains she started drinking some beer that she had in the fridge and couldn\u2019t drive.<\/p>\n So, I call my mother and ask her if she could come and pick him up.<\/p>\n She snapped at her mom,<\/p>\n Without thought, consideration, and a moment of pause, she says:<\/p>\n \u201cBrenda, I just can\u2019t. I have such horrible anxiety driving at night.\u201d<\/p>\n I won\u2019t go into history, but this has been an issue with her for a while.<\/p>\n She is too feeble, too scared, too weak. Excuse after excuse.<\/p>\n So, I told her as much, that we are all sick and tired of hearing how she\u2019s too unreliable to help us.<\/p>\n It\u2019s gotten old, especially when she fully expects my sister and I to take care of her.<\/p>\n Now, she\u2019s wondering if what she did and said was wrong.<\/p>\n I hoped and prayed she would see the misery her daughter was going through and would have gotten up and helped me.<\/p>\n I\u2019m dumb for it, I know. But, now she is telling me I\u2019m a jerk.<\/p>\n Because I didn\u2019t put her feelings before mine and understand her anxiety.<\/p>\n Am I wrong for being hurt?
