Orel Hershiser will be on the call with Davis for the final two games of the series.

Kershaw has appeared twice as part of NBC’s first-year “Sunday Night Baseball” coverage, both in Dodgers games. Kershaw served as a sideline analyst for the team’s Opening Day contest against the Arizona Diamondbacks and on Aug. 2 against the Boston Red Sox. This time, he will team with Davis, who was the voice for several memorable moments of the longtime left-hander’s career.

The two have a natural banter, as Kershaw’s in-game interviews from the dugout as a player were fan favorites, partially because of Kershaw’s strong insights.

The three-time World Series champion retired after the 2025 season, finishing an 18-year career spent entirely as a Dodger, the longest tenure for a player in franchise history. Kershaw was warming in the bullpen when Yoshinobu Yamamoto induced the title-winning double play last November in Toronto, and declared immediately afterward that he didn’t see any official jobs in his future.

Kershaw rejoined the Dodgers as a special assistant in March. He has continued to watch games from his home in Texas, where he has spent time with his wife, Ellen, and five children.

The new job has offered flexibility.

“There’s a freedom with retirement,” Kershaw said in March. “If you don’t want to work out, you don’t have to. If your back hurts, it doesn’t matter. If your arm hurts, it doesn’t matter. You get to see a lot more stuff, be around for everything. So there’s a lot of great parts. It doesn’t take away from how special playing this game is, but there’s a lot of really awesome parts about being home.”

He has still been around enough to lend the Dodgers a hand or, on Tuesday, his voice.

A familiar face will join the Los Angeles Dodgers’ local broadcast this week.
