\u201cBasically I was just circulating, waiting to come back in and do another (driver change) rotation and I came into Turn 6 and had a full brake failure,\u201d Jones told media.<\/p>\n
\u201cPedal went to the floor, unfortunately didn\u2019t slow down much and found the wall pretty hard at Turn 6.<\/p>\n
\u201cI reckon it has probably ended our day unfortunately, but the car can be fixed.<\/p>\n \u201cWe had a good morning, I\u2019ve had a few laps to get back into the routine.<\/p>\n \u201cDisappointed more than anything that I can\u2019t get the rest of the afternoon in before The Bend, so it has definitely put us on the back foot but you live and you learn.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is motorsport. It\u2019s disappointing but it happens\u2026 fortunately it was a tyre wall and not just straight concrete, but it\u2019s still pretty substantial damage.\u201d<\/p>\n Jones was a late call-up to partner finals contender Jack Le Brocq<\/a> after Cameron Crick<\/a> had to withdraw on health grounds. This will be the Porsche Carrera Cup star\u2019s second Supercars enduro campaign following a run last year alongside Team 18\u2019s Anton De Pasquale<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was f***ing terrifying, to be honest,\u201d Jones continued of the shunt.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019ve never really had that happen before. I hope to have it not happen again. But at least we\u2019re at a safe racetrack this weekend and there was a gravel trap, there was tyre walls. I\u2019m fine.\u201d<\/p>\n Whether the car will be repaired in time for tomorrow\u2019s ride day remains to be seen.<\/p>\n \u201cI jumped out and had a jump look around, and obviously it\u2019s not pretty but it never is when you hit a wall,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere\u2019s a good team of people around us here that have had a whole weekend of hard work. I\u2019m sure no one really wants to do another night of hard work but we\u2019ll see.
