Speaking with Fox Sports Australia earlier this week, Asofa-Solomona not only suggested a showdown with Gallen is now \u201cinevitable\u201d, but confirmed himself ready to throw down against \u201cthe king\u201d of footy fighters.<\/p>\n
Those close to \u2018Big Nasty\u2019 have also confirmed the former Melbourne premiership prop has already been in training three weeks for what would be an all-Australian crossover blockbuster.<\/p>\n
\u201cI want the big fights \u2014 the big fish,\u201d NAS told us shortly before training on Monday night. \u201cAnd Gal is the king of NRL fighters.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis is a name that\u2019s been brought up to me since before I turned pro. And it\u2019s inevitable our paths will meet.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe more pressure, the brighter the lights, the better I perform.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gallen, however, insists No Limit have yet to offer a deal large enough to lure him out of retirement, having not boxed since defeating Sonny Bill Williams in July last year.<\/p>\n

He also took the big stick to NAS when asked about why the fight \u2013 which could be headlined by Nikita Tszyu if he wins Wednesday night\u2019s IBF eliminator against Ben Mahoney \u2013 is being negotiated.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll tell you why they want me to come back,\u201d Gallen told nine.com.au, referencing No Limit.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want me to come back and beat him [NAS] because they know he\u2019s shit.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll due respect to Nelson … [but] No Limit have realised two things. Firstly, he can\u2019t fight, he\u2019s not a good boxer.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s dangerous. Don\u2019t get me wrong, he\u2019s very dangerous. He can punch. And most footy players they put in front of him, he\u2019ll probably knock them out.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not taking that away from him at all.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut as far as boxing goes, he\u2019s absolutely no chance of going anywhere, and they [No Limit] know that. That\u2019s why they want me to come back and beat him and finish him.\u201d<\/p>\n
Since walking out on his $800,000-a-year NRL deal, NAS has won three consecutive fights \u2013 knocking out former NRL forwards Jeremy Latimore, Jarrod Wallace and George Burgess.<\/p>\n
Yet Gallen says his promoter isn\u2019t impressed.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey want me to come back and finish this whole shemozzle,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe last guy he fought [Burgess], he\u2019s never had a fight in his life and was blowing up after 30 seconds. He was gone. Cooked. He fell and beat himself.<\/p>\n
\u201cNelson wants to be a professional boxer now and they\u2019re trying to bring a 45-year-old out of retirement to fight him. Like, where\u2019s he going?<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you\u2019re 140kg and you land a punch, that\u2019s gonna hurt most people. He can hurt almost everyone.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut as far as his boxing ability goes, when he gets down to somebody and actually fights, he\u2019s gonna be in trouble.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gallen did confirm however that he is in negotiations for the \u2018Big Nasty\u2019 showdown.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve made me an offer,\u201d he confirmed. \u201cI met them last week.<\/p>\n
\u201cI get on with Matt [Rose], and he put a contract in front of me, but I didn\u2019t even look at the contract. I said, \u2018Mate, what\u2019s the number?\u2019<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not something to be sneezed at, don\u2019t get me wrong. But I said, \u2018Mate, I\u2019m not even looking at it\u2019, and I walked away. He knows the figure I fight for. They wanna pay me, I\u2019ll fight. Pretty simple.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Gallen, understandably, did not reveal what that figure was, he rejected suggestions it sits around $1 million.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s not true,\u201d he said. \u201cAll the figures about me boxing are rubbish.\u201d<\/p>\n
Certainly though, \u2018Gal\u2019 is no stranger to offers with six zeroes.<\/p>\n
Way back in 2021, the Cronulla premiership hero revealed UK promoter Eddie Hearn had offered an $8 million proposal for he and SBW to fight twice the following year \u2013 with each man earning $4 million over two fights.<\/p>\n
Gallen stated, however, that Williams had knocked it back.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo I\u2019m f\u2026ing filthy,\u201d Gallen said. \u201cWe\u2019re talking about life changing money – two fights, $4 million each.<\/p>\n
\u201cWho else is getting that sort of cash? There are world champions who don\u2019t get that money. It\u2019s unbelievable.\u201d<\/p>\n

Then in January this year, No Limit CEO George Rose confirmed his interest in having NAS throw down against Gallen, who in his prime grossed a staggering $25 million with Australia\u2019s No.1 promoter.<\/p>\n
However, Rose quickly added that \u2018Gal\u2019 would now have little hope of keeping pace with the younger, and much heavier, man who now holds his crown as Australia\u2019s new crossover king.<\/p>\n
More recently in June, Rose also spoke with Fox Sports Australia about reports \u2018Gal\u2019 was asking for $1 million to face his newest crossover star.<\/p>\n
\u201cInitially, Gal was demanding $4 million,\u201d Rose joked. \u201cSo it\u2019s nice to see he has come down a little. Apparently, this is his discount price.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd Gal, we know, has always been about the money. But I also know the only reason he\u2019s throwing this figure at us is because he believes he can beat Nelson \u2026\u201d<\/p>\n
Already, there is talk of Gallen-NAS being on an October card headlined by either Liam Paro or Nikita Tszyu – should the latter defeat Mahoney on Wednesday\u2019s stacked Gold Coast event.<\/p>\n
There is also a chance Tim Tszyu, fresh off his own big win against American superstar Errol Spence Jnr, could fight again this year \u2013 although it\u2019s understood his preference is to wait until 2027.<\/p>\n
