It\u2019s fair to say that Sir Nick Faldo is one of the most outspoken personalities in the professional game.<\/p>\n

Faldo was an uncompromising character during his incredibly successful playing career.<\/p>\n

And while the Englishman is definitely more easy going now than when he was playing competitively, he still pulls no punches when discussing hot topics in the game today.<\/p>\n

So it should be no surprise that Nick Faldo<\/a> has such a strong opinion on LIV Golf<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Faldo recently described LIV Golf as \u2018a mess\u2019<\/a> when asked to give his thoughts on the league.<\/p>\n

And now he has offered some insight regarding what he has been hearing about LIV Golf\u2019s future.<\/p>\n

Faldo also took a swipe at Phil Mickelson<\/a> in the process.<\/p>\n

Nick Faldo reveals what he\u2019s hearing about LIV Golf\u2019s star players<\/p>\n

Faldo has been speaking on the Sky Sports Golf Podcast<\/a> about the current situation that LIV Golf finds themselves in.<\/p>\n

The Englishman explained how a lack of jeopardy on LIV Golf has cost the league dearly in the long run.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am hearing from the back of the range that more captains have said that they are done with their team,\u201c Faldo revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bottom line is more players are wanting to leave LIV than wanting to come to LIV right now.
If they really think they can revamp to LIV 2.0, nothing will be the same. Prize money will be halved, no build out. It\u2019s not going to be the same.<\/p>\n

\u201cHow can anybody invest serious money? They were asking for $350 million, who has that to invest in something that is just not popular? I\u2019m sorry, but the numbers just aren\u2019t there.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou are doing all that building and spending that and 100,000 people watch it on TV. It\u2019s just not happening.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think the golfers have realised as well, that sport has to have consequences. There has to be some scare factor in sport.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have just been watching Nadal\u2019s documentary and he says that there is no great champion unless they have overcome some difficulties.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo me it\u2019s like feel free, and that\u2019s not sport. I have harped on about the cut, and how important that is. When you\u2019re world number one and you\u2019re outside the cut, you half feel embarrassed and you have to deal with your game not being on. So you have to try your you know what off, to make the cut. I have seen it and commented on it. The one I choose was Rahm fist pumping at LA on Friday 18th green, when he was 14 back at the time, because he made the cut. It was so important.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou think that they couldn\u2019t care less, but they really care about that. You want to compete because guess what, you still have a chance if you are there.<\/p>\n

\u201cLIV has completely missed [that]. It has been all take and no give. That\u2019s my opinion.\u201c<\/p>\n

Nick Faldo takes dig at Phil Mickelson<\/p>\n

The six-time major champion took a swipe at Phil Mickelson\u2019s claim about LIV growing the game of golf worldwide.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get very frustrated when they throw out lines like growing the game of golf,\u201c Faldo exclaimed.<\/p>\n

\u201cPhil flew out to Hong Kong and said we are growing the game of golf for the juniors. I thought, sunshine, I was here 20 years ago with a golfer called Rory McIlroy and a girl called Yani Tseng. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve got 240 nippers here in the next two days, because we had 4,000 at my Faldo Futures. My series is 30 years old. That is growing the game of golf, not just bowling up in Hong Kong once.<\/p>\n

\u201cI get frustrated with all of that because it\u2019s not championship golf. There\u2019s just not that pressure of the fear of failure. Patrick Reed has done it the right way, he has come out and done enough to get himself back in.\u201c<\/p>\n
