GWS <\/a>captain Toby Greene<\/a> has revealed he will meet newly appointed Essendon coach Mark McVeigh<\/a>, adding a second Victorian club to his list of potential suitors.<\/p>\n

Speaking on his weekly Ausmerican Aces podcast, the 32-year-old confirmed he will meet with Geelong \u2013 a club he\u2019s long been linked with \u2013 while also catching up with the Bombers\u2019 new head coach, who won the race for the job this week.<\/p>\n

Greene remains out of contract as the Giants enter the off-season. <\/p>\n

While he is genuinely torn on whether to depart his club of 15 years, the star forward is expected to make a final call on his future within the next fortnight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve probably thought about it the last week for the first time,\u201d Greene said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI put it to the back of my mind the whole season. As much as people might find that hard to believe, that\u2019s the truth. <\/p>\n

\u201cI felt like a lot of people in Melbourne or friends, maybe even some people at the club, feel like I\u2019m definitely going, which is not true.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never felt (that). If I was definitely going I\u2019d say that now, I\u2019d be up front with the Giants and make it easy for them.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a decision to make and that\u2019s where it sits.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll meet with Geelong probably this weekend, I\u2019d say. Spike [McVeigh] has reached out as well since he got the job and asked to catch up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI said I\u2019d catch up with him, but it wasn\u2019t exactly what I was thinking all year.\u201d<\/p>\n

Greene also said that regardless of where he lands, facilities won\u2019t be a factor and wasn\u2019t worried about Geelong\u2019s gym set-up. <\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t give a f–k about the tour, to be honest,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t care about what their footy club looks like. They\u2019re a bloody good club … I\u2019d do weights at Anytime Fitness, if I have to.<\/p>\n

Greene has played 282 games for GWS and has been their since the start in 2012.<\/p>\n

He did admit that if he remains with GWS, he would be \u201chopeful\u201d that the club would contend for another premiership, despite missing the finals in 2026.<\/p>\n

McVeigh has admitted that the Bombers \u201cwill get in the ring pretty aggressively\u201d for Greene should the star forward choose to leave Sydney. <\/p>\n
