\n\tThe Grammy-winning singer graced the cover of The Wall Street Journal<\/a> on Wednesday (Aug. 26), where she opened up about her \u201cpop shame\u201d and perfectionism that almost didn\u2019t allow her to release \u201cMan I Need.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI used to have kind of a thing about pop music, like wanting to make pop music is lame. Maybe this is a bit too far, babe?\u201d she recalled thinking. <\/p>\n

\n\tEventually, Dean went ahead and \u201cMan I Need\u201d arrived as a single in August 2025 ahead of The Art of Loving, which arrived a month later. \u201cJust let go,\u201d she told herself. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cMan I Need\u201d eventually surged to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100<\/a> in late January but was ultimately blocked from the top spot by Ella Langley\u2019s<\/a> \u201cChoosin\u2019 Texas,\u201d a fate many massive hits suffered in 2026.<\/p>\n

\n\tBillboard\u2018s staff<\/a> ranked \u201cMan I Need\u201d as the 63rd greatest No. 2 hit of all time on the Hot 100<\/a>. The Art of Loving peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200<\/a> and produced another top five Hot 100 <\/a>hit with \u201cSo Easy (To Fall in Love)\u201d reaching No. 5.<\/p>\n

\n\tDean\u2019s \u201cRein Me In\u201d collaboration with Sam Fender <\/a>surged to No. 45 on this week\u2019s Hot 100<\/a> chart dated Aug. 29. The track continues its run as the\u00a0longest-running No. 1 of all time<\/a> in the U.K., notching a 22nd week at the summit.<\/p>\n

\n\tOlivia Dean is on the road for her headlining North American arena run The Art of Loving Live<\/a>, which is wrapping up with a pair of shows in Austin on Aug. 28-29.<\/p>\n
