Red Bull team principal Laurent Mekies subsequently backed Wolff\u2019s assessment despite the FIA\u2019s numbers placing Red Bull Ford at the top of the ICE rankings.<\/p>\n
\u201cToto is right. I also think that they have the most powerful power unit,\u201d Mekies said at the Belgian Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
Red Bull sought a review of the FIA\u2019s findings from the opening ADUO assessment after disputing the scale of the advantage attributed to its engine, but that process has not resulted in a change to the ranking.<\/p>\n
FIA single-seater director Nikolas Tombazis defended the methodology following confirmation of the latest results.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe FIA has undertaken thorough and exhaustive analysis as part of our ADUO review process,\u201d Tombazis said.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith the release of the findings of period two, we are confident that, based on the quality of the data, its analysis is incredibly robust, giving us a high level of confidence in our findings.\u201d<\/p>\n
The FIA did not publish the detailed performance data behind its calculations because of the commercially sensitive information involved.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also have to respect the confidentiality and intellectual property of the teams and their power unit manufacturers in disseminating any details from the findings.\u201d<\/p>\n
Honda\u2019s updated power unit introduced at the Dutch Grand Prix was not part of the latest assessment, with the review period ending before the Zandvoort weekend.<\/p>\n
Red Bull\u2019s next opportunity to qualify for ADUO assistance will therefore depend on how the manufacturers compare during the final assessment period of the season.<\/p>\n
The FIA also acknowledged that the framework could be refined after its first season of operation.<\/p>\n
