{"id":870787,"date":"2026-08-27T23:26:12","date_gmt":"2026-08-27T23:26:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/870787\/"},"modified":"2026-08-27T23:26:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-27T23:26:12","slug":"lim-family-epf-near-yinson-bid-for-rm6-86bil","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/870787\/","title":{"rendered":"Lim family, EPF near Yinson bid for RM6.86bil"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KUALA LUMPUR: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/business\/marketwatch\/stocks\/?qcounter=YINSON\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Yinson Holdings Bhd<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/charts.thestar.com.my\/?s=YINSON\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"go-chart\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/chart.png\"\/><\/a>\u2019s founding Lim family, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/business\/marketwatch\/stocks\/?qcounter=MISC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">MISC Bhd<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/charts.thestar.com.my\/?s=MISC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"go-chart\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/chart.png\"\/><\/a> are teaming up for a potential US$1.7bil (RM6.86bil) buyout of the company, according to people familiar with the matter.<\/p>\n<p>The group is preparing to submit an indicative offer of around RM2.35 per share for Yinson, which could come as soon as this week, the people said, asking to not be identified because the information is private.<\/p>\n<p>Yinson\u2019s shares have climbed almost 12% in Kuala Lumpur this week, reaching a four-month high of RM2.22.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s given the energy infrastructure company a market value of RM6.5bil.<\/p>\n<p>Representatives for the Lim family and Yinson declined to comment. EPF and MISC didn\u2019t immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<p>The Lim family owns about 27.7% of Yinson, while EPF holds 17.1%.
