From me to all of you, I\u2019ve been so lucky. The people, the places. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis job has made me the proudest Australian.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTimmy, those are beautiful words, but we\u2019re not very happy about this,\u201d Dickie joked in response, while Samantha Armytage said: \u201cYou\u2019ve done a spectacular job. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve known you for a lot longer than those seven years \u2013 we go way back \u2013 and you\u2019ve always been just an absolute shining light of fun and generosity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Davies\u2019 final forecast will be on Friday, 18 September.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Davies joined Today in 2019, and alongside reporting the weather he has skydived, bungee jumped, abseiled off some of the most thrilling and death-defying attractions, gone swimming with sharks and crocodiles, raced performance vehicles, and performed acrobatics all live on air.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Queensland tourism 'good to go', Tim Davies writes\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/a82ab97f7c37ff78dcf48a2f19b8a9e55754fab9.jpeg\"  width=\"100%\"\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"_0b53bae146db0b62 _7475dd3391ee1518\" style=\"--text-color:var(--color-text-secondary)\">Queensland tourism &#8216;good to go&#8217;, Tim Davies writes\u00a0Instagram: mr_timdavies<\/p>\n<p>In a separate statement, Davies said: \u201cPeople always tell me I\u2019ve got the best job in TV and they\u2019re not wrong,\u201d Davies said of his exit. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking alongside the best broadcasters, travelling to new destinations daily and showcasing incredible Aussies is a privilege.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNot all journos get to deliver good news, good vibes and a smile with each story, so having achieved all that and so much more \u2013 this seems like the right time to step back, enjoy a sleep in, take a break without a camera crew and prepare for my next adventure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>An announcement on Tim\u2019s replacement will be made soon.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Today weather presenter Tim Davies has announced he\u2019s leaving the show after seven years.
