Music legend Dolly Parton may have been best known for her larger-than-life personality and her legendary singing career, but the country icon also showcased another talent during her lifetime: property investment.<\/p>\n
After the 9 To 5 hit maker passed away at the age of 80 on Aug. 25, following a brief battle with cancer, tributes have poured in from around the world, with celebrities including Taylor Swift, Jane Fonda, and even Amazon founder Jeff Bezos.<\/p>\n
Many hailed her onstage talents, her generosity of spirit, and her philanthropic work \u2014 something that she demonstrated even through her love of property investment when she donated a longtime home to charity in 2023.<\/p>\n

Photo: Jason Kempin\/Getty Images<\/p>\n The listing noted that the home has been outfitted with a new luxury shingle roof, while an electric vehicle charger was also installed in order to add another layer of convenience, particularly given the home\u2019s rather remote location.<\/p>\n Still, the new owners took pains to ensure that Parton\u2019s presence remains in every room, with the listing photos revealing that a tea set has been placed on the kitchen table, along with printed instructions addressed \u201cto Dolly, from Steve,\u201d which detail how to make the perfect brew.<\/p>\n Elsewhere in the home, various knick-knacks, including framed art, collectable plates, and various pieces of china can be seen adorning wooden shelves that run throughout many of the wood-panelled rooms.<\/p>\n A signed photo of Parton in her youth hangs on one of the walls, while one of the bathrooms has been outfitted with a guitar-shaped toilet seat for an added homage to her musical career.<\/p>\n Multiple fireplaces can be found in the living spaces and in the primary bedroom, adding a cozy feel to the 1,800-square-foot property.<\/p>\n Intriguingly, though the home now \u2014 quite literally \u2014 screams \u201cDolly Parton,\u201d her ownership of the property remained a closely guarded secret for many years and was only brought to light when it was sold in July 2024.<\/p>\n According to property records, the cabin was originally built in 1996, before being sold for just $126,000 in December 1994, which is when Parton is believed to have purchased it.<\/p>\n Parton\u2019s wacky Solvang getaway features its own windmill<\/p>\n The \u201cJolene\u201d hit maker and Dean snapped up another quaint California house in 2004 and owned it for a decade, before quietly offloading it in 2014, when it sold for $US940,000 ($1.3m).<\/p>\n Located \u201cin the heart of\u201d the Danish-inspired town of Solvang, the adorable mini compound, which still retains many of the features added by the country music star during her ownership, features three petite properties: a main residence and two rental units.<\/p>\n \u201cThis one-of-a-kind property features the country legend\u2019s original, authentic \u2018Wig Room,\u2019\u201d state the listing for the home, which was being sold by its current owner, Chris Lapp.<\/p>\n A plaque stationed at the front of the dwelling proudly signals its impressive heritage as the \u201cformer home of Dolly Parton: singer, actor, and American icon,\u201d while a stained-glass window above the front door of the property\u2019s main residence features the legend\u2019s name, along with a butterfly.<\/p>\n The \u201cJolene\u201d hit maker and Dean snapped up the house in 2004 and owned it for a decade, before quietly offloading it in 2014, when it sold for $940,000.
