Port Adelaide will farewell three members from its football department, with Head of Development Matthew Lobbe, development coach Cam Sutcliffe and SANFL coach Jacob Surjan departing the club.<\/p>\n
Lobbe returned to Alberton in 2022 as Ruck Coach and Head of Development, having earlier represented Port Adelaide in 92 AFL games.<\/p>\n
Sutcliffe has worked as a development coach across both the AFL and AFLW programs since retiring as a player in 2023, following a Port Adelaide career spanning SANFL and AFL level.<\/p>\n
Surjan coached Port Adelaide’s SANFL side in 2026 alongside a midfield development role, capping a Port Adelaide career that included 121 AFL games and the club vice-captaincy in 2010.<\/p>\n
Port Adelaide General Manager \u2013 Football Ben Rutten thanked all three for their contributions to the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cMatthew, Cam and Jacob have each made a genuine contribution to this football club, both as players and as coaches and we’re grateful for everything they’ve given.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey’re all great Port Adelaide people and they’ll always be welcome here at Alberton.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe thank them for their service and wish them and their families all the best for the next chapter.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lobbe said he was grateful for his time back in the coaching ranks at Alberton.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’ve loved my time back at the club as a coach and have enjoyed working with a lot of great people.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’m now looking forward to what\u2019s next for my family and I.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sutcliffe reflected on a Port Adelaide journey spanning three different roles.<\/p>\n
\u201cI’ve had an amazing journey as a player, coach and working in administration at Port Adelaide. I leave with great memories and lifelong friendships and now look forward to the next chapter in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
Surjan said he was thankful for the opportunity to return to the club and wished the club well for 2027.<\/p>\n
\u201cI was grateful for the opportunity to be back at Port Adelaide and coaching the Magpies in the SANFL. Exciting opportunities outside of football have now come my way, which I am looking forward to.
