{"id":872174,"date":"2026-08-29T02:46:13","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T02:46:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/872174\/"},"modified":"2026-08-29T02:46:13","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T02:46:13","slug":"in-form-miyu-yamashita-grabs-share-of-tpc-boston-lead-australian-golf-digest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/872174\/","title":{"rendered":"In-form Miyu Yamashita grabs share of TPC Boston lead \u2013 Australian Golf Digest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Miyu Yamashita is back on top of an LPGA Tour leaderboard only days after tying the tour\u2019s 72-hole scoring record in a nine-stroke victory in Canada.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The diminutive Japanese star shot a two-under 70 on Friday at TPC Boston for a share of the lead in the FM Championship with Hyo Joo Kim and US Solheim Cup qualifier Allisen Corpuz.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kim and Corpuz each shot 67 to join the four-foot-11 Yamashita at nine-under 135.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yamashita has four LPGA Tour titles, also winning the Meijer LPGA Classic in June in Michigan after taking the Women\u2019s British Open in Wales and Maybank Championship in Malaysia last season as rookie of the year. She has 13 Japan LPGA victories.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kim also has two victories this season, the Founders Cup and Ford Championship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s been a while since my name has been on the leaderboard,\u201d Kim said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Morgane Metraux (65) and Ruoning Yin (65) and Jenny Bae (68) were a stroke behind the leaders. Nataliya Guseva (68) and Emily Kristine Pedersen (72) are at seven under.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First-round leader Sei Young Kim followed her opening 64 with a 74 to fall three strokes back.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Top-ranked Nelly Korda had her second straight 72 to make the cut on the number in the final event before the Solheim Cup matches in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1787971573_189_.jpeg\" alt=\"Green\"\/>Australia\u2019s Hannah Green is six shots off the pace at TPC Boston. (AP PHOTO)<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Major winner Hannah Green (67) is tied 27th and Australia\u2019s leading contender.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2019 women\u2019s PGA champion is six behind the leaders and two ahead of compatriot Robyn Choi (70) and Karis Davidson (73).<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">European captain Anna Nordqvist advanced to the weekend in her final event on the LPGA Tour.
