Callum Peters has cemented himself as a star on the rise with a brutal TKO of Blake Wells to claim the IBF Pan Pacific middleweight title on the Nikita Tszyu-Ben Mahoney undercard<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The 2024 Olympian\u2019s unorthodox style was too much for the world No. 15, with a series of devastating body blows leaving Wells bruised and beaten across eight punishing rounds, with the Victorian doing well to remain standing.<\/p>\n

The onslaught began in the first round, with commentator Ben Damon describing the carnage as \u201call out war\u201d as the pair exchanged heavy blows.<\/p>\n

But it didn\u2019t take long for Peters to take the fight by the throat, with repeated blows to the liver across the second, third and fourth rounds leaving Wells struggling to stay on his feet.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s being cut in half here,\u201d Damon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat is sickening stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m glad Callum Peters wasn\u2019t around in my weight division. He is a nightmare,\u201d boxing legend Danny Green added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI dare say he\u2019s (Wells) broken a rib or two.<\/p>\n

Peters, in contrast, was barely breaking a sweat.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s not even puffing, Ben. It\u2019s crazy!\u201d Green laughed as Peters began the seventh round with yet more punishment.<\/p>\n

\u201cWells has really impressed me with his toughness.\u201d<\/p>\n

Wells, remarkably, even landed a left hook to Peters\u2019 head midway through the eighth round, before another brutal assault saw the referee at last call a halt.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat a warrior he is,\u201d Damon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re an absolute demon,\u201d Green said of Peters.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd Callum Peters \u2013 wowee. This kid is going somewhere.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commentator Corbin Middlemas had similarly high praise.<\/p>\n

For 50 Cal, the next challenge is obvious.<\/p>\n
