Marc M\u00e1rquez knows a thing or two about injuries. The MotoGP star has had to cope with many crashes and, consequently, many periods on the sidelines due to injury throughout his remarkable career. That is why he advised Isack Hadjar to be patient following his left wrist injury and not to rush back onto the track.<\/p>\n
The Red Bull Racing star did just that. At Zandvoort, he was replaced by Racing Bulls driver Liam Lawson, whilst Red Bull\u2019s top reserve driver, Yuki Tsunoda, took the New Zealander\u2019s place in the cockpit. Hadjar watched from the pits as the pair put their foot down.<\/p>\n
The advice to take his time with his comeback came to the Formula 1 star from none other than Marc M\u00e1rquez. The nine-time world champion told colleagues at the official MotoGP website: \u201cHadjar got in touch with me. I\u2019m not a doctor, of course, but I was able to give him some advice. Because for a rider, it\u2019s sometimes really difficult, as you think to yourself: \u2018OK, maybe I can do it\u2019, and it\u2019s hard to accept when you should sit out a race to prepare better for the next one.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve learnt in the past that missing a race doesn\u2019t change your life. But if an injury gets worse because you return to the track too soon, and you end up missing even more races, then that can change your life,\u201d explained the 33-year-old Spaniard. <\/p>\n
\u201cMy life has changed a great deal since the injury in Jerez, which is why I gave Isack this advice. I think he made the right decision, because he still has a long career ahead of him,\u201d added Marc M\u00e1rquez, referring to the injury he sustained in Jerez in 2020. The MotoGP star fractured his right humerus.
