On Friday night, the New York Yankees<\/a> opened up a big series with the Boston Red Sox<\/a> in the Bronx.<\/p>\n The Yankees won by a score of 1-0.<\/p>\n Chris Kirschner of The Athletic wrote:<\/a> \u201cYankees had just 3 hits tonight, but it was enough for a 1-0 win over the Red Sox. Season series between the rivals is now 5-5.<\/p>\n UPDATE: The Yankees lost 6-0.<\/p>\n MLB Vet Is Still A Free Agent<\/p>\n \n With less than one month before the 2026 MLB<\/a> playoffs, it\u2019s worth noting that Seth Brown<\/a> still remains a free agent.<\/p>\n He was released by the Yankees earlier this year.<\/p>\n MLB.com wrote<\/a> (on June 14): \u201cScranton\/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders released LF Seth Brown.\u201d<\/p>\n Brown did not appear in a game for the Yankees at the MLB level.<\/p>\n He had been with their Triple-A affiliate.<\/p>\n \n Brown had been batting<\/a> .235 with 43 hits, nine home runs and 21 RBIs in 53 games for the SWB RailRiders.<\/p>\n He could be a good addition to another organization for depth before the playoffs.<\/p>\n Looking At Brown<\/p>\n \n Brown has spent all seven seasons of his MLB career with the Athletics (2019-25).<\/p>\n He has 14+ home runs in four of those seasons.<\/p>\n His best year came in 2022 when he hit 25 home runs with 73 RBIs.<\/p>\n Looking At The Yankees Right Now<\/p>\n \n The Yankees are in the middle of a strong 2026 regular season.<\/p>\n They are the second-place team in the American League East with a 76-58 record in 134 games.<\/p>\n Following three more games with the Red Sox, the Yankees will head on the road to visit Mike Trout<\/a> and the Los Angeles Angels<\/a> on Monday night in California.<\/p>\n \n\t\t\tBen Stinar<\/a> Ben Stinar has been covering the NBA for over seven years.\u00a0
