{"id":874432,"date":"2026-08-31T00:48:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-31T00:48:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/874432\/"},"modified":"2026-08-31T00:48:14","modified_gmt":"2026-08-31T00:48:14","slug":"chinas-ruoning-yin-back-to-winning-ways-at-fm-championship-australian-golf-digest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/874432\/","title":{"rendered":"China&#8217;s Ruoning Yin back to winning ways at FM Championship \u2013 Australian Golf Digest"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">[Photo: AP PHOTO] Ruoning Yin has held on for her first win in two years at the LPGA\u2019s FM Championship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">China\u2019s Ruoning Yin has clinched the FM Championship at TPC Boston for a long-awaited sixth career LPGA Tour victory, outlasting Hyo Joo Kim.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yin ran in a 25-foot birdie putt on the par-5 12th for a share of the lead with South Korean playing partner Kim. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 23-year-old parred the next five holes in breezy conditions and birdied the par-five 18th for a two-under 70 and a two-stroke victory.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI think this one definitely boost my confidence a little bit,\u201d Yin said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI just want to enjoy the moment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kim shot 71. She dropped back with a three-putt bogey on the par-three 16th, missing a nine-foot par try. The South Korean player \u2014 a two-time winner this season \u2014 missed a seven-foot birdie attempt on the par-three 17th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAt the end of the day it was Ronni,\u201d Kim said.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1788137293_778_.jpeg\" alt=\"Hyo Joo Kim of South Korea.\"\/>[Photo: AP PHOTO] Hyo Joo Kim, a two-time winner this season, finished runner-up at theLPGA\u2019s FM Championship. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Karis Davidson was the highest-placed Australia player in a group of four players tied for 17th.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sei Young Kim chipped in for birdie on the par-three 11th to take a one-stroke lead in the final group, then dropped four shots on the next three holes with a double bogey and two bogeys. She shot 73 to tie for fourth.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Yin won twice in 2023 and three times in 2024, with a span of 672 days since her last win in the 2024 Maybank Championship.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cIt\u2019s just been so long since my last win,\u201d Yin said<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u201cI know I work hard and also my team, my mom is here. Just everything comes together.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Allisen Corpuz was third at 11 under after a 68. Fellow US Solheim Cup player Rose Zhang (68) was another shot back with Sei Young Kim.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/1788137294_957_.jpeg\" alt=\"Karis Davidson, of Australia,\"\/>[Photo: AP PHOTO] Australia\u2019s Karis Davidson finished tied for 17th place after a final-round 69 at TPC Boston. <\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Top-ranked Nelly Korda tied for 50th at one over after a 73 in the final event before September\u2019s Solheim Cup matches in the Netherlands.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">European captain Anna Nordqvist finished her final final event on the LPGA Tour in tie for 38th, ending on one under after a 72.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI\u2019m not really sure how to feel,\u201d Nordqvist said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \u201cNothing ever prepares you for this moment.
