“I mean, absolutely. I wasn’t able to do everything I wanted to do on the floor last year, but I always got a lot of love for the organization, the fans — first class. Like I said, it’s disappointing what I dealt with last season,” Curry said.<\/p>\n
Curry’s wishes for another year in the Bay have seemingly fallen on deaf ears. They’ve instead targeted another guard in Williams who’s younger, nowhere near the same level of shooter, but can give the Warriors a bit more juice off the dribble which they need. Much like Curry, Niang has faced his injury problems in the last 12 months, but Golden State have prioritized him as a veteran catch-and-shoot threat in the frontcourt.<\/p>\n
The most frustrating element here is that Curry still looked like a solid rotation player when he did play last season, shooting an incredible 48% from 3-point range while averaging 7.1 points in just over 13 minutes per game. The problem was he made only 10 appearances, and it’s clear the Warriors have decided they just can’t take the risk again given their already old, injury-prone roster.<\/p>\n
Seth Curry faces uphill battle for another NBA opportunity<\/p>\n
It’s hard to see where Curry fits around the league and where he can get another opportunity in what would be his 13th NBA season. Rebuilding franchises aren’t going to have any interest, while veteran contending teams will likely want someone more reliable physically than what Curry was last season.<\/p>\n
Perhaps there’s a team that really needs shooting and could talk themselves into someone who still remains elite in that aspect. One of Curry’s former teams, the Philadelphia 76ers, have even been suggested as an option<\/a>, but that appears unlikely after signing Kentavious Caldwell-Pope in the wake of LeBron James’ move last month.<\/p>\n Hopefully Curry can get another opportunity somewhere in the league, but the Warriors seem to have moved on from that possibility while few teams immediately stand out for the 6’1″ guard.<\/p>\n
