who has agreed to join McLaren as chief racing officer when his current contract expires<\/a>.<\/p>\nLambiase currently combines his position as Red Bull\u2019s head of racing with his long-standing role as Max Verstappen\u2019s race engineer, having worked alongside the Dutchman since his promotion to the senior team in 2016.<\/p>\n
While Red Bull has not announced McCullough as Verstappen\u2019s future race engineer, he will take over the senior head of racing position held by Lambiase.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019re delighted to welcome Tom to the team at the beginning of 2027 and look forward to the wealth of experience and expertise he will bring to the role,\u201d Red Bull said in a statement.<\/p>\n
McCullough brings extensive Formula 1 experience to the team after spending more than a decade within the organisation now known as Aston Martin.<\/p>\n
Having previously worked for Reynard, Sauber and Williams, McCullough joined Force India in 2014 as chief race engineer and remained with the Silverstone operation through its transitions into Racing Point and Aston Martin.<\/p>\n
He became performance director in 2018 and held the position until the end of 2024, before a restructure ahead of the 2025 season saw his F1 responsibilities transferred to former team principal Mike Krack.<\/p>\n
McCullough subsequently moved into a senior role with Aston Martin Performance Technologies, stepping away from the F1 operation before his departure from the wider Aston Martin group was confirmed in August.<\/p>\n
His move represents another significant addition to Red Bull\u2019s senior ranks following a period of considerable change within the organisation.<\/p>\n
Adrian Newey, Jonathan Wheatley, Rob Marshall and Will Courtenay have all departed the team in recent years, while chief engineer Paul Monaghan has also been linked with a future switch to Cadillac.<\/p>\n
Red Bull has simultaneously reshaped its technical structure, with Ben Waterhouse taking on the role of chief performance and design engineer and Andrea Landi moving across from Racing Bulls as head of performance.<\/p>\n
McCullough\u2019s signing also follows Red Bull\u2019s recruitment of former Mercedes junior program chief Gwen Lagrue as its young driver advisor.<\/p>\n
Lambiase\u2019s eventual exit will close one of Red Bull\u2019s longest-running relationships, having joined the team in 2015 before becoming Verstappen\u2019s race engineer the following year.<\/p>\n
