\u201cWhen I came out of the dorm and got back to the house, they were really worried about me, \u2019cause I lost a lot of weight, because I was stressed to debut,\u201d he says. \u201cYeah, that was really so sad, when I think about that.\u201d He remembers his response was to comfort them: \u201c[Like,] \u2018I\u2019m fine, what is the problem?\u2019 I debuted, I succeeded, so this is the start. \u2018Guys, I\u2019m really good,\u2019\u201d he adds, laughing. They cooked for him, and eventually, their worries eased as the pre-debut stress eased.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think that was an important experience for me,\u201d Evan says. \u201cThat developed me a lot; that\u2019s why I became like this. It\u2019s really meaningful for me. I don\u2019t regret it at all,\u201d he adds. \u201cI don\u2019t think about it too much.\u201d<\/p>\n
Family is on his mind on Death of Me, too, specifically on the song \u201cGoing Home,\u201d a kind of emo-rock track about wanting to see his parents while in the midst of a busy schedule. Most of the songs on Death of Me were written in the past few months, but \u201cGoing Home,\u201d the album\u2019s closer, was written before he left ENHYPEN. He mentioned it as early as February<\/a> of this year, at a fan signing. \u201cAs I\u2019m unable to visit home much, there was a time I could only briefly see my parents before returning to the dorms, and so on the way back to the dorms, I started tearing up,\u201d he says. \u201c\u2018I really want to go home,\u2019 I realized. It\u2019s a story of promising, \u2018I\u2019ll return after great success,\u2019 to my family.\u201d<\/p>\n Evan\u2019s six years in ENHYPEN took him around the globe as the group released album after album, won major awards in Asia, and embarked on several world tours, including a standout performance at Coachella in 2025<\/a>. And then the announcement came<\/a> on March 10, 2026: Heeseung would be leaving ENHYPEN \u201cafter extensive deliberation\u201d to pursue a solo career under Belift Lab, while ENHYPEN would continue on as six, not seven.<\/p>\n
