THERE was a familiar face in unfamiliar colours at the recent Ipswich Super440 as the Blanchard Racing Team rebounded to form.<\/p>\n

Working on Aaron Cameron<\/a>\u2019s #3 Liqui Moly Blahst Supercar was former Dick Johnson<\/a> Racing stalwart Josh Silcock.<\/p>\n

Across a decade at DJR, Silcock held roles including crew chief.<\/p>\n

The #3 side of the BRT garage was down a mechanic after Sarah Abuawad returned to Tickford Racing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Enter Silcock. It\u2019s not yet clear whether Queensland Raceway was a one-off or if he\u2019ll continue with the squad at next week\u2019s AirTouch 500 at The Bend.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s got so much knowledge and fits into our team so well, it has been a breath of fresh air,\u201d BRT manager Kate Harrington told V8 Sleuth.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is obviously based on the Gold Coast, we\u2019re Melbourne, so he\u2019s not planning to move back anytime soon. But he was the number two on Car #3 for the weekend.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in talks about whether we can just have him for the rest of the season because we\u2019re short a number two on that car.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be awesome to have him with us for the rest of the season, especially going into enduros, just someone to have that knowledge.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a decent chunk of knowledge in the team but he\u2019s just someone who has been there and knows how to operate in high-pressure situations at Bathurst and Tailem Bend. He\u2019s a guy great.\u201d<\/p>\n

BRT regulars Cameron and James Golding<\/a> will be joined by co-drivers Zak Best<\/a> and Richie Stanaway<\/a> for the enduros.<\/p>\n
