In the process, Topuria lost the UFC Lightweight Championship.<\/p>\n<p>While Gaethje <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/ufc\/justin-gaethje-says-arman-tsarukyan-is-far-more-deserving-of-title-shot-than-ilia-topuria-hes-not-fighting-me-next\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">has said he doesn\u2019t think<\/a> Topuria should get a rematch right away, does the UFC brass feel differently? In a video uploaded on the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=q7i5f_748ys\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Anik Bros\u201d YouTube channel<\/a>, Anik said he thinks there are real talks about a potential rematch between Gaethje and Topuria (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mmafighting.com\/ufc\/509024\/jon-anik-thinks-ufc-is-considering-justin-gaethje-vs-ilia-topuria-rematch-thats-what-i-think-is-going-to-happen\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">MMAFighting<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there are internal conversations to potentially try to do Gaethje vs. Topuria 2,\u201d Anik said. \u201cA lot of people wonder aloud, \u2018What is next for Ilia Topuria?\u2019 And there\u2019s certainly an obvious foundation for a fight between him and Paddy Pimblett. But if you have Ilia Topuria, as a fight promoter, would you not want to think about putting him back in a championship setting, given how big UFC Freedom 250 was?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think there\u2019s strong consideration there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gaethje has appeared to be more interested in getting a chance to avenge losses against Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira. At the moment, Oliveira doesn\u2019t have a fight booked, and Holloway is coming off the quick TKO win over Conor McGregor due to an injury.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Highlight\u201d recently told SI that both of his hands are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/ufc\/justin-gaethje-remains-sidelined-until-2027-amid-injury-update-both-of-my-hands-are-still-hurt\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">still injured and he won\u2019t be fighting again until 2027<\/a>. That could leave the door open for Arman Tsarukyan to get a title fight if he\u2019s able to get past Mauricio Ruffy at UFC 331 on Sept. 19.
