Andy Pages<\/a>\u2019 left hand was fractured by a Bubba Chandler<\/a> pitch on August, but the Dodgers outfielder told The Athletic\u2019s Fabian Ardaya<\/a> that he has started to hit off a tee and is no longer feeling any discomfort in his hand.\u00a0 Manager Dave Roberts told Sportsnet LA<\/a> and other reporters that Pages \u201cis coming quickly\u201d towards a return, and could continue his rehab work at the Dodgers\u2019 spring camp or even start a rehab assignment during the team\u2019s upcoming road trip that begins on Friday.<\/p>\n

Pages had a minor surgery on his hand shortly after the injury, which seems to have him well on pace to meet or top his estimated recovery time of 4-5 weeks.\u00a0 Ideally he\u2019d be able to return before the end of the regular season so he could shake off any rust, but the true goal for all parties is to ensure that Pages will be healthy for the start of the playoffs.<\/p>\n

Ryan O\u2019Hearn<\/a> will likely begin a Triple-A rehab assignment on Tuesday, according to multiple Pirates beat writers.\u00a0 A left quad strain has kept O\u2019Hearn out of action since July 31, as O\u2019Hearn became one of many important Bucs hitters who were sidelined during the team\u2019s playoff drive.\u00a0 Just about everyone but O\u2019Hearn and Endy Rodriguez<\/a> is now healthy, but a 5.5-game deficit in the wild card race may be too much for the Pirates to make up.\u00a0 O\u2019Hearn has hit .270\/.334\/.454 with 17 homers over 398 plate appearances in his first season of a two-year, $29MM free agent deal.
\nSpeaking of teams trying to hang in a wild card race, the Orioles moved within three games of the Guardians with today\u2019s victory over Cleveland.\u00a0 It remains to be seen if Ryan Helsley<\/a> can help out with a late return, but O\u2019s manager Craig Albernaz told reporters (including MLB.com\u2019s Jake Rill<\/a>) that Helsley will throw a live batting practice tomorrow or Wednesday.\u00a0 The closer has pitched only 15 1\/3 innings this season due to recurring elbow issues, and the second of his two IL stints has lasted since June 30.\u00a0 If the live BP leads to a minor league rehab assignment, Helsley could be on pace to be activated from the 60-day IL in perhaps a week or so.
