While Dearden has attempted to put speculation to bed on multiple occasions, CODE Sports reporter David Riccio stated the whispers have been impossible to ignore since the start of the year.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis story and murmurs about Tom Dearden\u2019s future have been around since February,\u201d Riccio said on NRL 360.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is the story that hasn\u2019t gone away the entire season, no matter what the Cowboys have attempted to do. They\u2019ve tried to mediate the situation.<\/p>\n
NRL 360 co-host Braith Anasta added that even when Dearden has tried to shut down the speculation, he has done little to silence the ongoing whispers, claiming his management have sounded out clubs in the past.<\/p>\n
\u201cEven Dearden tried to squash it,\u201d Anasta said.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was ridiculous, pretty much to the media, but I know for a fact his management had sounded at clubs.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a big story because it is Tom Dearden and he has sounded out Sydney clubs. It\u2019s not been made up out of nowhere. You can\u2019t squash it.\u201d<\/p>\n

With his management previously looking around to see if rivals were interested, Riccio was asked how widespread the interest could be in his services if he were to become available.<\/p>\n
This prompted the prominent reporter to say that virtually every Sydney club would explore whether they could accommodate him, or even shake up their roster to make room for the Queensland Maroons sensation.<\/p>\n
\u201cAll of them (would be interested),\u201d Riccio said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI don\u2019t think it got that far (in the past but) I think every Sydney club would have looked at their roster and seen how they could fit Tom Dearden in. <\/p>\n
