A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a car hit three cyclists, killing two and injuring another.<\/p>\n
Kent Police said it had charged Aaron Turner, 22, from Hermitage Road in Higham, after the fatal crash near Gravesend on Sunday.<\/p>\n
A man in his 60s and a woman in her 50s died in the crash while the third cyclist was treated in hospital for minor injuries, a police spokesperson said.<\/p>\n
A white Ford Focus was travelling south-west near the village of Sole Street at about 07:45 BST when it was involved in the crash, according to police.<\/p>\n
In addition to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, Turner has been charged with failing to stop at the scene of a crash and possession of a class C drug.<\/p>\n
He is due to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court later.<\/p>\n
A 21-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and a 19-year-old woman who was detained on suspicion of assisting an offender have been released on bail.<\/p>\n
Investigators are asking anyone who saw the car or cyclists before the incident, or who witnessed the crash near the junction of Sole Street and Round Street, to contact them.<\/p>\n
They also appealed for members of the public with CCTV or dashcam footage to get in touch.<\/p>\n
