\n\tAn oceanfront mansion in Malibu<\/a>, reportedly linked to Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage<\/a>, was damaged by a massive sinkhole on Tuesday morning amid coastal erosion.<\/p>\n

\n\tFire officials told ABC7<\/a> that crews were dispatched to the home in the 31600 block of Sea Level Drive at around 5:45 a.m. following reports of a suspected gas main break. At the scene, the driveway of Cage\u2019s home was collapsed after erosion appeared to have washed away the ground beneath it.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe erosion broke a water line and a gas line, authorities told ABC7, leading the Southern California Gas Company to shut off the gas Tuesday morning.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe City\u2019s Building Safety Division and Southern California Gas Company are working to assess the situation. At this time, the City red tagged five homes (prohibited entry). The City\u2019s Building Safety Division and Southern California Gas Company will continue to assess the situation to determine safety concerns for the surrounding area, and will provide updates as they become available,\u201d the City of Malibu wrote on social media<\/a> Tuesday.<\/p>\n

\n\tAn evacuation order was later issued by officials<\/a> for the affected properties.<\/p>\n

\n\tOver the weekend, the remnants of Hurricane Marie have been impacting Southern California, bringing high surf and flooding to the coast. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe Hollywood Reporter reached out to Cage\u2019s rep but did not hear back at the time of publication.<\/p>\n
