\n\tSince it was launched nearly 36 years ago, IMDb<\/a> has served as an online directory of TV shows and movies and the actors who appear in them.<\/p>\n

\n\tNow Amazon-owned IMDb is adding \u201cDigital Creator\u201d as a new professional category on both IMDb and IMDbPro.<\/p>\n

\n\tDigital creators who work in film, TV, streaming and branded entertainment already have listings on the service, like MrBeast<\/a> (Jimmy Donaldson), the most-followed individual YouTube creator whose projects have included reality series \u201cBeast Games\u201d for Prime Video. <\/p>\n

\n\tThe introduction of the new \u201cDigital Creator\u201d professional category on IMDb and IMDbPro gives internet content creators \u201ca dedicated way to represent that work and connect with audiences, industry peers and potential employers,\u201d according to IMDb. The category includes sub-professions to further specify their work, including \u201cStreamer,\u201d \u201cVlogger,\u201d \u201cVideo Essayist,\u201d \u201cVideo Creator,\u201d \u201cGaming Creator\u201d and \u201cInfluencer.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThe \u201cDigital Creator\u201d designation functions as a professional category on IMDb and IMDbPro. Creators can feature multiple professions on their page, so someone who is both a digital creator and an actor can \u201crepresent the full scope of their work in one place,\u201d per the company. No existing film or TV credits are required to establish a profile as a Digital Creator. The \u201cDigital Creator\u201d option is now available as a professional category for IMDbPro Premium members.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIMDbPro empowers entertainment professionals with tools that help them get discovered, build their reputation, and advance their careers,\u201d said Nikki Santoro, CEO of IMDb, in a statement. \u201cDigital creators and their representatives need that same infrastructure, and producers, casting directors, studio executives and brand partners need a reliable way to find them. We\u2019re excited to add a category that bridges that gap and gives creators a discoverable industry profile.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tIMDb\u2019s launch of Digital Creator profiles will be \u201ccelebrated\u201d at the Toronto International Film Festival where IMDb will host an invite-only industry cocktail party on Sept. 14. The TIFF event will mark the debut of the Digital Creator professional category and \u201cspotlight IMDb\u2019s expanding collaboration with Canadian guilds,\u201d the company said.<\/p>\n
