Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker warned fans he\u2019s no longer signing autographs or taking photos in public.\u00a0Matt Winkelmeyer\/Getty Images<\/p>\n
\u201cFelt like expanding on that note from yesterday,\u201d began the two-time Grammy winner. \u201cI LOVE meeting fans and am almost always happy to take photos and sign stuff.\u201d <\/p>\n
He explained the problem was to do with autograph hounds who \u201cuse bizarre tactics to trick you into thinking they are fans (you should hear some of the shit they come up with, fake back stories etc etc).\u201d <\/p>\n
\u201cRemember it\u2019s just so they can throw it on eBay as soon as they have your autograph,\u201d he continued. <\/p>\n
The Dracula hit maker said that sometimes it\u2019s hard to tell the real fans from the \u201ceBayers\u201d so the smartest thing is to say hotels, airports and outside venues are \u201coff limits\u201d for autographs. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe absolute opposite thing I would want from this is for fans to think I don\u2019t want to meet them\/take photos etc,\u201d he clarified. <\/p>\n
\u201cI love them and will ALWAYS be grateful for their love.\u201d <\/p>\n
Earlier in the week, the 13-time ARIA winner told fans to \u201cplease don\u2019t be offended\u201d as he explained the initial ban on fan meet and greets, which he has now clarified only extends to the mentioned zones. <\/p>\n
\u201cHey guys … Due to the rise of aggressive autograph hounds I won\u2019t be signing anything or doing photos out the front of hotels or at airports at all anymore\u201d, Parker began in a series of Instagram<\/a> stories. <\/p>\n Kevin Parker apologised after announcing ban on autographs, and clarified what he meant. \u00a0Instagram\/@tameimpala<\/p>\n The band\u2019s frontman spoke of the \u201caggressive\u201d lengths professional autograph collectors would go to, adding \u201cthey\u2019ve started using kids which I think is all kinds of wrong\u201d. <\/p>\n \u201cSo if you happen to catch me please don\u2019t be offended if I say no,\u201d said the Elephant singer. <\/p>\n In a follow-up post, Parker said he was advised by his security team to no longer stop outside concert venues either. <\/p>\n Parker on stage with popstar Dua Lipa performing in Sydney in 2025. \u00a0Don Arnold\/Getty Images<\/p>\n \u201cI won\u2019t be coming out after shows to meet fans in the parking lot for the time being,\u201d he wrote. <\/p>\n Parker revealed he was doing meet and greets for a while in Europe.<\/p>\n \u201cBut the numbers were getting out of control and we don\u2019t have the security to manage it,\u201d he revealed. <\/p>\n The music released a statement on Instagram.\u00a0Instagram\/@tameimpala<\/p>\n Parker signed off by telling fans to stay safe and have the \u201cbest time\u201d at the shows. <\/p>\n Tame Impala\u2019s Deadbeat Tour, which kicked off in October 2025, will continue in North America until September 20, before heading to Australia and Europe next year. <\/p>\n The singer\u2019s hit song Dracula in collaboration with Blackpink\u2019s Jennie was voted number three in triple j\u2019s Hottest 100 of 2025. <\/p>\n Tame Impala\u2019s current hit Loser is featured on the soundtrack of Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/a>. <\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/09\/9373aac64e230c0d8bc66ca03006ee5f7d2d03f2cc1c8fe01bbe4f8813e47591.png\")
