\n GM of Football Chris Davies spoke to Carlton Media for a long-ranging chat following the conclusion of the Club\u2019s 2026 AFL season.\n <\/p>\n

\u201cWE\u2019VE got to look at this season in a fashion that takes the good and the bad out of it, and understand that this club deserves better than to be eighth.\u201d<\/p>\n
Leaving no stone unturned.<\/p>\n
Carlton General Manager of Football Chris Davies said the Blues needed to look at every avenue that opens the door for improvement, following an elimination final exit.<\/p>\n
Wrapping up exit meetings at IKON Park on Thursday, Carlton confirmed nine further list changes this week, with Davies admitting \u201cthere have been some tough calls made\u201d.<\/p>\n
However, Davies said that every decision has been made with the view to taking the Club forward.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you make the number of changes that we end up doing, you get the sense that this list needs to evolve into the future\u2026 we\u2019re searching for what\u2019s next,\u201d Davies told Carlton Media.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe only way we\u2019re going to be able to get in better shape in the future is to come prepared at the start of pre-season to work, we need to hit this off-season period to make our list better and to front up next year ready to grow.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll want to get our list in a better position now than what it was at the start of the year and continue to evolve as much as we can\u2026 There are areas of our list that need work. We\u2019ve moved on a decent number through this delisting phase, we get an opportunity to reshape the list for the future – that\u2019s going to be really important.\u201d<\/p>\n
Saying the Club would look to every avenue over the off-season, Davies said the Blues would aim to retain their draft hand \u201cas much as we possibly can\u201d in the pursuit of father-son prospect Cody Walker.<\/p>\n
Looking to new recruits both on and off the field, Davies said all decisions would be made in order to best set the Blues up leading into their first pre-season under AFL Senior Coach Josh Fraser.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ll try to be aggressive as we can, but also, the money is not burning a hole in my pocket. We\u2019ve got to make sure we use it in the most appropriate form.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen [Fraser] got appointed, you start to tick off the big rocks that he gives you a sense of. The fantastic thing about Josh is he\u2019s really clear on what the program needs to look like next year, he\u2019s had a clear view of what he wants pre-season to look and feel like.<\/p>\n
