\n The 33-year-old from Flint, North Wales, switched sports 18 months ago after retiring from taekwondo and has already secured two wins in the Misfits boxing ring.\n<\/p>\n
\n She is set to face Hungarian MMA fighter Sheena Bathory for the Misfits super-middleweight title in Newcastle on Saturday.\n<\/p>\n
\n Jones said: “It (professional boxing) is definitely on my horizon.”\n<\/p>\n
\n “I’m trying to take it step by step, because with taekwondo I put so much pressure on myself and it almost didn\u2019t become fun in the end.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Misfits Boxing, founded by influencer and businessman KSI in 2022, stages celebrity bouts between internet personalities, content creators and professional athletes.\n<\/p>\n
\n Jones, who trains under former British champion Stephen Smith in Liverpool and spars with professionals Rhiannon Dixon and Olivia Holmes, said she still felt the hunger to compete after leaving taekwondo.\n<\/p>\n
\n She said: “I just had nothing left to give to taekwondo, but I wasn\u2019t quite ready to retire.\n<\/p>\n
\n “My body felt in really good shape and I still had that hunger and fire.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It\u2019s so exciting how good I feel like I\u2019m getting already.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I just want to keep testing myself and get better.\n<\/p>\n
\n “See how high we can get.”\n<\/p>\n
\n She has already claimed two knockout victories against US reality TV star Egypt Criss and Argentine combat sports influencer Federikita.\n<\/p>\n
\n The wins have fuelled her confidence as she considers a transition to the professional boxing scene.\n<\/p>\n
\n Known as the “Headhunter” in taekwondo, Jones said she hasn\u2019t settled on a boxing nickname yet.\n<\/p>\n
\n She said: “I do still love the head, but I haven\u2019t got a name yet.\n<\/p>\n
\n “I was just waiting to see if anything stuck.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Probably \u2018Knockout Queen\u2019 at the moment.\n<\/p>\n
\n \u2018Headhunter\u2019 does work well because I don\u2019t go to the body much.”\n<\/p>\n
\n Jones made history by winning Great Britain\u2019s first Olympic taekwondo gold at London 2012 and defended her title at Rio 2016.\n<\/p>\n
\n However, she missed out on further medals at Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 and admitted she had grown “stale” in the sport.\n<\/p>\n
\n She said: “In taekwondo, weirdly, 31 is quite old, but in boxing, it\u2019s young.\n<\/p>\n
\n “It\u2019s a totally different mentality and, with anything, you don\u2019t really know you\u2019re stale until you do something else.”\n<\/p>\n
