If you\u2019re heading along to the NFL\u2019s <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.heraldsun.com.au\/sport\/american-sports\/nfl\/the-salaries-of-the-bestpaid-nfl-players-from-la-rams-and-san-francisco-49ers-revealed\/news-story\/91f5cfabca52f1af95f78263c48f20e7\" target=\"_blank\" data-tgev=\"event119\" data-tgev-container=\"bodylink\" data-tgev-order=\"91f5cfabca52f1af95f78263c48f20e7\" data-tgev-label=\"sport\" data-tgev-metric=\"ev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">historic match at the MCG<\/a>, here\u2019s everything you need to know.<\/p>\n<p>When is it<\/p>\n<p>2026 NFL Melbourne Game <\/p>\n<p>Friday, September 11, 2026 <\/p>\n<p>Melbourne Cricket Ground <\/p>\n<p>Gates open: 7am<\/p>\n<p>Kick-off: 10.35am <\/p>\n<p>Getting there<\/p>\n<p>Walking from the city centre <\/p>\n<p>Start at Fed Square, opposite Flinders St Station. <\/p>\n<p>Walk through Birrarung Marr and across William Barak Bridge to the W1 entrance (15-20 mins).<\/p>\n<p>Travelling by train <\/p>\n<p>Get off at Richmond Station: 5-min walk to E2 Entrance. <\/p>\n<p>Get off at Jolimont Station: 2-min walk to N1 or N2 Entrances.<\/p>\n<p>Travelling by tram <\/p>\n<p>Route 70a (Flinders St): Get off at Stop 7B (MCG\/Rod Laver Arena) or 7C (MCG\/John Cain Arena) for the S1 or S2 entrances. <\/p>\n<p>Route 48a (Collins St) or 75a (Flinders St): Get off at Stop 11 (Jolimont Station\/MCG) for the N1 or N2 entrances.<\/p>\n<p>Travelling by bus <\/p>\n<p>Route 246 (via Punt Rd, East Melbourne): Short walk through Yarra Park to the E1 or E2 entrances.<\/p>\n<p>Road closures<\/p>\n<p>Temporary road closures include: Barassi Way, Wellington Parade, Jolimont Road, Clarendon Street and surrounding local streets.<\/p>\n<p>NFL Clear Bag Policy <\/p>\n<p>Leave your backpack at home. Only the following bags will be permitted into the MCG for the match:<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 30.5 x 15.25 x 30.5 cm <\/p>\n<p>This includes clear backpacks, clear fanny packs and clear cinch bags that fit within the permissible dimensions.<\/p>\n<p>Banned items include:<\/p>\n<p>* Luggage of any kind, computer, camera or binocular bags.<\/p>\n<p>* Computers, iPads, or tablets<\/p>\n<p>* Beach Balls.<\/p>\n<p>* Camcorders (including GoPro).<\/p>\n<p>* Can\/Glass\/bottles\/flasks\/empty bottles\/Thermoses<\/p>\n<p>* Flags with sticks or poles<\/p>\n<p>* Flares.<\/p>\n<p>* Footballs.<\/p>\n<p>* Noise making devices such as horns, whistles, bells, vuvuzelas.<\/p>\n<p>* Outside food or drink of any kind (except soft sided reusable water bottles).<\/p>\n<p>The NFL is strict. You will need to show your ticket and undergo a security check before entering the stadium grounds.<\/p>\n<p>Want to watch the game but don\u2019t have a ticket?<\/p>\n<p>*NFL Kickoff Festival at Melbourne Park: <\/p>\n<p>Exit via MCG Gates 1, 6 or 7 and take the pedestrian bridges straight over the railway lines to Melbourne Park (400 metres, 5-minute walk). <\/p>\n<p>You must already have a ticket to attend this event.
