But the action begins on Friday in Qu\u00e9bec on the demanding circuit that goes through the Old City, the Plains of Abraham, then down to the famous fleuve, the St. Lawrence, and back again. And back again. For just a touch over 200 km. It\u2019s an interesting race as even though it certainly wears people out, a puncheur\/sprinter type can still hang on and take the final to the line. Montr\u00e9al, on the other hand, is well-suited to guys like Seixas or (sigh) Tadej Poga\u010dar. But that\u2019s a few days away.<\/p>\n
Many of the WorldTour pros who have arrived in our lovely country will also be racing the road worlds with their national teams towards the end of the month. It doesn\u2019t make sense to fly home for a week or so in between these races\u2013which are their own solid WorldTour events, but also act as big prep races for the worlds. So some teams are opting to stay in Quebec to train, head to Colorado\u2013but basically, stay in a similarish time zone.<\/p>\n
