{"id":888668,"date":"2026-09-11T22:50:11","date_gmt":"2026-09-11T22:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/888668\/"},"modified":"2026-09-11T22:50:11","modified_gmt":"2026-09-11T22:50:11","slug":"former-nba-player-believes-lebron-james-underachieved-in-his-career-gives-one-reason-why","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/888668\/","title":{"rendered":"Former NBA Player believes LeBron James &#8216;underachieved&#8217; in his career, gives one reason why"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>   <a class=\"fw\" href=\"https:\/\/profile.google.com\/cp\/Cg0vZy8xMWcxajNfc2h3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener noreferrer\"> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"28\" height=\"28\" src=\"https:\/\/www.hitc.com\/wp-content\/themes\/grv-media\/img\/google-discover.svg\" alt=\"\"\/> Follow us on Google Discover <\/a>  <\/p>\n<p>LeBron James is entering the 24th year of his NBA career, and in his time playing, he has won every major laurel there is in the league.<\/p>\n<p>The four-time NBA champion will play for the Philadelphia 76ers next season, and will be on a team that is expected to be the favourites to win the NBA championship.<\/p>\n<p>Every game, it feels like James could be on the verge of either breaking a record or adding to a record he already holds.<\/p>\n<p>However, this is not enough to convince former NBA player Olden Polynice about King James.<\/p>\n<p>Polynice thinks James is overrated<\/p>\n<p>Olden Polynice played in the NBA for over a decade, and since his retirement has been actively involved in sports media and developing basketball talent.<\/p>\n<p>His most recent take, however, was directly targeting <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hitc.com\/topic\/lebron-james\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">LeBron James<\/a>, a player who has given everything he has to the game.<\/p>\n<p>The former player\u2019s main argument was James\u2019 failure to average a Triple Double season. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI love LeBron, I really do, I think he\u2019s one of the greatest ever, ever. What he is doing right now, we\u2019ve never seen before and I won\u2019t even get off the court, he is by himself over there,\u201d said Polynice on Sirius XM Radio.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut at the same time, I can be critical of him on somethings, one in particular, I felt LeBron should have averaged a triple double way before Russell Westbrook.<\/p>\n<p>MORE RUSSELL WESTBROOK STORIES<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s my personal opinion because he\u2019s big strong and everything else, he\u2019s the most talented guy we\u2019ve seen in a long time, but yet Russell Westbrook averaged a triple double and LeBron didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo I can be critical of things like that because I still believe, believe it or not this is going to be the weirdest thing ever uttered, LeBron James underachieved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Now, Polynice has admitted that it is a weird thing to state that LeBron has underachieved, considering there isn\u2019t much left for him to win. <\/p>\n<p>He is entering Year 24 with hopes of winning a championship, and that is only going to further cement his legacy as one of the greatest to ever play the game of basketball.
