To get him on the roster, the Patriots needed to open a spot.<\/p>\n<p>New England did that by placing wide receiver A.J. Brown on injured reserve. <\/p>\n<p>Brown, who has a high-ankle sprain, will not be eligible to return until missing at least four games. He will not play against the Steelers, Jaguars, Bills and Raiders. <\/p>\n<p>Brown caught three passes for 26 yards and drew a 34-yard pass interference penalty that set up the team\u2019s lone touchdown in the loss to the Seahawks. <\/p>\n<p>Veteran Mack Hollins and second-year WR Kyle Williams are the next players up at the X receiver spot. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Patriots made official the signing of veteran defensive tackle DaQuan Jones.
